Tony Silvagni wins the Taiwan Open of Surfing
Tony Silvagni wins the 2015 Men's LQS at the Taiwan Open of Surfing at Jinzun Harbor, Taiwan. The competition was condensed down to a 3 day event after experiencing high winds from a typhoon swell. Professional surfers came from around the world to showcase their talent at the 5th annual Taiwan Open of Surfing. The field of competition was stacked with two time world champions Harley Ingleby and Taylor Jensen. Many other stand outs in the competition were Nic Jones (AUS), Jack Entwistle (AUS), and Eduardo Delpero from France. The waves offered all the competitors to showcase their talent in front of the Taiwanese crowd. The opening cermony had big wave pro surfer, Garrett McNamara show up for the event to show his support. On the first day which was the lay day all the competitors had the chance to free surf at other surf breaks where the wind was blocked. Taiwanese food, the people, hot springs, the scenary, and the waves make Taiwan one of the best destinations to visit. The event was live on the internet for viewers to see all the competitors surf and there was a large number of viewers for this event on the web.Tony Silvagni from Carolina Beach displayed a consistent show of reportatire of noseriding and tail riding with a mix of drop knee cut backs to claim the win in the 2015 Taiwan Open of Surfing for the Men's LQS. Tony will be competing for the world longboard title in Hainan, China amongst the top 32 professional lonboarders in the world.
