2016 Tony Silvagni wins National Title
Tony Silvagni from Carolina Beach, NC wins the 2016 USA Pro Longboard National Championships. On November 5th, and 6th Tony Silvagni competed amongst the top 24 professional longboarders in North America and one athlete from Brazil. The contest was held in Oceanside, California at the north jetty harbor. Tony competed a week prior where he won the Trump Wetsuits Hyuga Pro Longboard Championships in Miyazaki, Japan. 2016 has been a great year for competitive surfing for Tony Silvagni. He has been working with his surfboard shaper, Bill Stewart with Stewart Surfboards who has been supplying him with the best equipment for all the surf events. The USA Pro Longboard National Championships was sponsored by Brillo Productions, Trump Wetsuits and Stewart Surfboards for both men and women professional longboard. The event had some of the best surf conditions for a professional longboard event with 4-5 feet clean surf conditions. Tony Silvagni had the highest heat total up to the final day with a perfect score of a 10 point ride and a 9.5 in Round 2 against Steven Mclean. The final day ended up with 2X World Champion Taylor Jenson against Tony Silvagni. The final was the best heat to watch with Tony Silvagni coming away with the win in a tight battle against Taylor Jensen.
